Leptaena (Leptaena) rhomboidalis
Taxonomy
Anomites rhomboidalis was named by Wahlenberg (1818) [Neotype selected by Kelly (1967: 594, pl. 98 fig. 1)
This species originally was described by Wilckens but in a pre-Linnean work. So, it often is attributed to Wilckens rather than Wahlenberg.]. Its type specimen is BU 878 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Conchita rhomboidalis by Wilckens (1769); it was recombined as Leptaena (Leptaena) rhomboidalis by Rubel (2011); it was recombined as Leptaena rhomboidalis by Girty (1899), Reed (1952), Kelly (1967), Bassett and Cocks (1974), Hoel (2005) and Hoel (2014).
