Taxonomy
Rasenia (Rasenia) optima was named by Mesezhnikov (1984). Its type specimen is VNIGRI 482/686 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Levaya Boyarka River, outcrop 23, bed 2, Taimyr, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
