V. Havlicek and P. Storch 1990 | Shell small, 11-17 mm wide; ventral disc trapezoidal with sides diverging toward hinge line, moderately convex umbonally but flat or even gently concave anteriorly and laterally, surrounded by a weak marginal ridge which may be substituted by an edge in some specimens. Trail 30-60% of the length of the disc, laterally passing into alate projections variable in shape; anterior margin of the disc arcuate. Brachial valve flat except for an elongate apical node; dorsal disc separated from the trail by a rounded edge or even by a shallow depression. Ventral interarea apsacline, lower part of delthyrium open; pedicle foramen large, apical. Dorsal interarea linear, anacline to almost orthocline, chilidial plates much smaller than the pseudodeltidium (VH 4333). Costellae rounded, variable in size, 5-8 per 2 mm; weak rugae present in lateral parts of the disc. Concentric fila present.
Interior : Ventral muscle field located on a low, cup-like platform anteriorly undercut, in smaller specimens extending to mid-length of the disc. Transversely crenulate teeth and dental plates fused into short ridges separated by gaps from ridges bounding the muscle field. Diductor impressions much larger than the ovoid adductor scar. Vascula media closely adjacent to each other. Taleolae coarse, arranged in radial and concentric rows. Cardinal process lobes blade-like and rather short, divergent. Brachiophores blade-like, broadly diverging, never obscured by secondary shell material. Notothyrial pit circular, rather deep. Dorsal muscle field obscure. |
