Taxonomy
Okathyris sokolovi was named by Smirnova (1975). Its type specimen is MSU No. 139/479, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kresty pit, near Yaroslavl, which is in a Hauterivian marine sandstone in the Russian Federation.
