Glyptorthis bellatula
Taxonomy
Glyptorthis bellatula was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 110015a, a valve (pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Route 113 (Marion-Chatham Hill road), 6 miles north of Marion, Chatham Hill, which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Chatham Hill Formation of Virginia.
