Glyptorthis glypta
Taxonomy
Glyptorthis glypta was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 110067c, a valve (brachial valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porterfield Quarry, 5 miles northeast of Saltville, which is in an Ashbyan reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Edinburg Formation of Virginia.
