Taxonomy
Glyptorthis subcircularis was named by Cooper (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 84015, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Decorah, which is in a Rocklandian deep subtidal shelf claystone/limestone in the Decorah Formation of Iowa.
