Taxonomy
Dorsoplicathyris ovalis was named by Alméras (1970). Its type specimen is FSL 46 356 (Almeras coll.) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vercra (Koenigi), which is in a Callovian carbonate limestone in France.
