Terebratula skidegatensis was named by Whiteaves (1876). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East side of Maude Island, which is in a Callovian marine sandstone in the Yakoun Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Ornithella skidegatensis by Crickmay (1933).
