Taxonomy
Teichertina americana was named by Johnson (1970). Its type specimen is USNM 162827, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM 10802. 9100 feet ESE of Western Peak, Roberts Mountains, which is in an Eifelian marine packstone in the Denay Limestone Formation of Nevada.
