Taxonomy
Praelongithyris praelongiforma was named by Middlemiss (1959). Its type specimen is BMNH 67590 (Walker coll.) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upware, which is in an Aptian marine horizon in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Praelongithyris.
