Taxonomy
Proetus scanicus was named by Olin (1906). Its type specimen is LO 1940T, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Decoroproetus scanicus by Owens (1973); it was recombined as Rorringtonia scanica by Owens (2004).

Synonyms
  • Zetaproetus michle was named by Snajdr (1983).

    It was recombined as Xenocybe michle by Pek and Vanek (1989); it was synonymized subjectively with Rorringtonia scanica by Owens (2004).
