Taxonomy
Jereica was named by Zittel (1878) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Jereicidae.

It was assigned to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Jereicidae by Finks et al. (2004).
