Puppigerus camperi

Originally mentioned by Cuvier (1824) as Emyde de Bruxelles, figured in his pl. XIII, fig. 8 and pl. XV, fig. 16
Taxonomy
Emys camperi was named by Gray (1831). Its type specimen is I.R.S.N.B. 1687/R.4, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bruxelles Sands (Sables d'Bruxelles) - Bruxelles Formation, which is in a Lutetian coastal sandstone in the Bruxelles Formation of Belgium.
It was recombined as Lytoloma camperi by Bergounioux (1933); it was recombined as Puppigerus camperi by Dollo (1923), Moody (1974), Tong et al. (2012) and Karl and Tichy (2019).
