Taxonomy
Modestella modesta was named by Owen (1961). Its type specimen is GSM Zk 4733, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Copt Point, Folkestone, main mammillatum bed, which is in an Albian coastal sandstone in the Folkestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
