Taxonomy
Paraungaliophis pricei was named by Rage (2008). Its type specimen is DGM 1365-R (mid-trunk vertebra) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Itaboraí snake collections, which is in a Paleocene/Eocene terrestrial carbonate in Brazil. It is the type species of Paraungaliophis.
