Fitzroya tasmanensis
Taxonomy
Fitzroya tasmanensis was named by Hill and Whang (1996) [Specimens Examined: LEA-1541, 1800, 1845, 1867-1870, 1883, 2360, 2361, 2747, 2749]. Its type specimen is Holotype: LEA-2747, housed in the Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania, a sterile axis (Leafly twigs with cuticles), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lea River, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial siltstone in Australia.
