Taxonomy
Praedaraelites aktubensis was named by Ruzhentsev (1949). Its type specimen is PIN 455/93, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dombar Hills, sample 27, which is in a Pendleian carbonate limestone in Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Epicanites aktubensis by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
