Paralligator ancestralis
Taxonomy
Paralligator ancestralis was named by Konzhukova (1954). Its type specimen is PIN 551-29/1, a partial skull (Skull roof fragment), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nemegt locality (PIN coll. 551) [MPE], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Shamosuchus ancestralis by Efimov (1982), Efimov (1983) and Storrs and Efimov (2000); it was synonymized subjectively with Shamosuchus gradilifrons by Turner (2015).
