Taxonomy
Delepinoceras californicum was named by Gordon (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 120622 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS loc. 15782-PC, Cottonwood Mountains, which is in an Arnsbergian marine limestone/siltstone in the Rest Spring Formation of California.

M. Gordon 1964Delepinoceras with sutures less advanced than in type species; prongs of ventral lobe more strongly trifid than first lateral lobe. Surface of ado- lescent conch with about 70 longitudinal lirae.
