Agathis kendrickii was named by Hill and Merrifield (1993) [Specimens examined: WAM P.84.28, P.84.29, P.84.30b.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: WAM P.84.29, stored in the Western Australian Museum., a leaf. Its type locality is West Dale, which is in an Eocene/Oligocene channel lag siltstone/sandstone in Australia.
