R. S. Hill 1990 | Leaf arrangement on axis unknown. Leaf 5 mm long, <2mm wide, distinctly keeled, apex acute, incurving, adaxial surface concave. Stomatal distribution unknown. Stomatal plug with a fused, irregular, highly extruded surface. Subsidiary cells usually four, sometimes five or six. Guard cells level with epidermal cells, subsidiary cells extend below them. Cuticle on subsidiary cells granular, outer flange oval, regular, rim unthickened. Flange between guard and subsidiary cells often extended into an irregular fringe, less well developed at guard cell poles. Polar extensions well developed. Flange between guard cells smooth and thick. Cuticle on guard cell surface smooth. Epidermal cell walls not sinuous, buttressing absent. |
