Notiocatillocrinus was named by Willink (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: P Sakm-u P Leon-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Notiocatillocrinus oakiensis.

It was assigned to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Catillocrinidae by Webster (1987) and Webster and Webster (2012).
