Taxonomy
Pisocrinus was named by de Koninck (1858) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u D Eife]. Its type is Pisocrinus pilula. It is the type genus of Pisocrinoidea.

It was assigned to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pisocrinidae by Ramsbottom (1958), Webster and Rakhmonov (2009).
