Taxonomy
Achatella consobrina was named by Tripp (1954). Its type specimen is A.3946a, b and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Craighead Quarry, which is in a Caradoc marine mudstone in the Craighead Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Achatella (Achatella) consobrina by Jaanusson and Ramsköld (1993).
