Taxonomy
Cosmetocrinus was named by Kirk (1941) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-m C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 906,1247]. It is not extant. Its type is Cosmetocrinus gracilis.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aphelecrinidae by Webster and Jell (1992), Kammer and Roeser (2012).
