Taxonomy
Crotalocrinites was named by Austin (1842) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-u S Ludl]. It is not extant. Its type is Cyathocrinites rugosus. It is the type genus of Crotalocrinitidae.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Crotalocrinitidae by Ausich and Copper (2010).
