Parapengornis eurycaudatus
Taxonomy
Parapengornis eurycaudatus was named by Hu et al. (2015). Its type specimen is IVPP V18687, a partial skeleton (a nearly complete and articulated individual preserved in a single slab, missing only the distal portion of the sternum and some parts of the left hand and righ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lingyuan (general), which is in an Aptian terrestrial horizon in the Jiufotang Formation of China. It is the type species of Parapengornis.
