Cratoavis cearensis
Taxonomy
Cratoavis cearensis was named by Carvalho et al. (2015). Its type specimen is UFRJ-DG 031 Av, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton, preserved in two slabs, including skull, nearly complete fore and hindlimbs, vertebral column and pectoral and pelvic girdles.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pedra Branca Quarry (Crato), which is in an Aptian terrestrial lime mudstone in the Crato Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Cratoavis.
