Amphorometra was named by Gislén (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno T Eo-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Glenotremites conoideus.

It was assigned to Comatulida by Rasmussen (1961), Sepkoski (2002); and to Conometridae by Jagt (1999), Eagle (2009), Hess and Messing (2011).
