Hertha was named by Hagenow (1840) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes T Mi]. It is not extant. Its type is Hertha mystica.

It was assigned to Comatulida by Rasmussen (1961), Sepkoski (2002); and to Heliometrinae by Eagle (2007), Hess and Messing (2011).
