Taxonomy
Cretiscalpellum harnedi was named by Collins (1973). Its type specimen is BMNH In.64421, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barr Pasture (Harned collection), which is in a Maastrichtian coastal siliciclastic in the Ripley Formation of Mississippi.
