Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
P. E. Isaacson et al. 1976 | Exterior.--Shell unequally biconvex. Maximum convexity of both valves near posterior margin. Hinge line straight and equal to maximum width of shell. Width approximately twice the length in larger specimen. Width to length ratio larger in smaller specimen. Anterior commissure faintly sulcate. Surface of both valves marked by numerous (approximately 50-60 at anterior margin, in large specimen) costellae. Costellae narrowly v-shaped, with similar vshaped interspaces. Costellae alternating in size by pairs, and increase in number by bifurcation at approximately one-half the distance from the posterior margin. Shell length 6.5-11.6 mm. Shell width 9.5-17.0 mm.
Dorsal interior.-Chilidium prominent, erect. Cardinal process poorly preserved. Adductor muscle scars somewhat elongate and widely separated by low myophragm. |
