Taxonomy
Foveotricolporites rugulatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 28775.
Paratype: UFP 66, 18.1 x 88.7.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 34, 19.2 x 101, a microspore (Pollen grain).
