Microscapha andrzeji was named by Bukejs and Alekseev (2015). Its type specimen is Gorski 5057, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Andrzej Gorski collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
