Retibrevitricolporites speciosus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga. PaleoDB number 28773.
]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 32, 3.9 x 82.1, a microspore (pollen grain).
