Striatopollis tenuistriatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Paratype: UFP 84, 17.8 x 89.4. Type locality: La Regadera Creek near La Donjuana.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 58, 15.6 x 95.2, a microspore (Pollen grain).
