Tetracolporites psilatus was named by Jaramillo and Dilcher (2001) [Paratype: UFP 49, 17.8 x 110.8. Type locality: Piñalerita Creek near Sabanalarga.]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UFP 49, 14 x 91.5, a microspore (Pollen grain).
