Taxonomy
Apterodon langebadreae was named by Grohé et al. (2012). Its type specimen is NHMUK M 85297-85334, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dur At-Talah (west of the escarpment) - 68.19, which is in a Bartonian/Eocene marginal marine conglomerate in Libya.
