Entelodon orientalis
Taxonomy
Entelodon orientalis was named by Dashzeveg (1965). Its type specimen is Collection no. 27, a maxilla (Fragment of left side upper jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khoer Dzan slope, which is in an Eocene terrestrial gravel in the Ergilin Dzo Formation of Mongolia.
It was synonymized subjectively with Entelodon gobiensis by Lucas and Emry (1996).
