Taxonomy
Alaymys ctenodactylus was named by Averianov (1993). Its type specimen is ZIN C.73846, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Andarak 2, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Alai Beds Formation of Kyrgyzstan. It is the type species of Alaymys.
