Taxonomy
Cricetodon schaubi was named by Zdansky (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Heti Formation Locality 1, which is in a Sharamurunian channel marl/sandstone in the Heti Formation of China.
It was recombined as Eucricetodon schaubi by Vianey-Laud (1972); it was recombined as Pappocricetodon schaubi by Tong (1992), Dawson and Tong (1998), Gomes Rodrigues et al. (2010).
