Taxonomy
Oxynocricetodon erenensis was named by Wang (2007). Its type specimen is IVPP V14989, a tooth (Right M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East of the Erenhot railway station, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Houldjin Formation of China.
