Taxonomy
Eoentelodon trofimovi was named by Dashzeveg (1976). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khoer Dzan slope, which is in an Eocene terrestrial gravel in the Ergilin Dzo Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Brachyhyops trofimovi by Wang and Qiu (2002), Tsubamoto et al. (2011).
