Proapteryx micromeros
Taxonomy
Proapteryx micromeros was named by Worthy et al. (2013). Its type specimen is NMNZ S.53324, a limb element (Right femur), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Site FF1 or HH0, Manuherikia River, H41/f059, which is in an Altonian lacustrine - large claystone in the Bannockburn Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Proapteryx.
