Fucaia goedertorum
Taxonomy
Chonecetus goedertorum was named by Barnes et al. (1995). Its type specimen is LACM 131146, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Twin River Quarry, which is in a Chattian basinal (siliceous) mudstone in the Pysht Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Fucaia goedertorum by Marx et al. (2015), Fordyce and Marx (2016), Tsai and Kohno (2017), Fordyce and Marx (2018), Hernández Cisneros and Velez-Juarbe (2024).
