Fessonia wunderlichi was named by Bartel et al. (2015). It is extant. Its type specimen is MAI 5649, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (University of Gdansk MAI collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
