Fessonia grabenhorsti was named by Bartel et al. (2015). It is extant. Its type specimen is Grabenhorst 208/HG, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Bitterfeld amber (Grabenhorst collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Germany.
