Taxonomy
Aralomys glikmani was named by Vorontzov (1963). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 1971/1, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zherlepes, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial shale/claystone in the Aral Formation of Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Tachyoryctoides glikmani by Lopatin (2004).
