Mormopterus barrancae
Taxonomy
Mormopterus barrancae was named by Czaplewski (2010). Its type specimen is MLP 93-XI-18-15, a mandible (left dentary fragment including symphysis with p2, p4, m1, m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
